Liberia’s former speaker and three House members released after bond payment
Jonathan Fonati Koffa, along with Abu Kamara, Dixon Seboe, and Jacob Debee, has been released from prison after paying a bond of £325,000 ($440,000) related to their alleged involvement in the Capitol building fire last December, which caused $8.6 million in damage. The men face multiple charges, including arson and attempted murder, with police suggesting Koffa had credible links to the incident. A travel ban has been imposed on the accused as they await the case’s conclusion, following a history of political tensions surrounding Koffa’s leadership.
