An art expert from the BBC’s Bargain Hunt, Oghenochuko Ojiri, has pleaded guilty to eight counts under the Terrorism Act 2000 for failing to report high-value art sales to Nazem Ahmad, a man suspected of financing Hezbollah. Ojiri sold £140,000 worth of artwork to Ahmad, who has been sanctioned by the US since 2019 for his alleged support of the group. The prosecution highlighted that Ojiri was aware of Ahmad’s sanctions through news reports and discussions with others, marking this as the first prosecution of its kind.
