A Georgia man, Patrick Joseph White, opened fire outside the CDC headquarters in Atlanta, killing police officer David Rose and injuring several buildings before dying at the scene. White, who had expressed distrust in the COVID-19 vaccine and blamed it for his mental health issues, prompted calls for increased security and condemnation of vaccine misinformation from a CDC workers’ union.
