Leading up to the 2024 NFL Draft on April 25 in Detroit, various "experts" will be sharing their mock drafts on a weekly basis. Stay updated with the latest predictions, top five picks, players on the rise and fall, surprise selections, and potential trades all in one place. This week, the highlighted experts are Dan Parr from NFL.com and Kyle Stackpole and Josh Edwards from CBS Sports. Pick No. 1 (Chicago Bears) Parr, Stackpole, Edwards: USC QB Caleb Williams The consensus is that the Bears will require a significant offer to trade away the No. 1 pick. Therefore, unless a team is willing to meet their demands, Chicago is expected to select the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, Caleb Williams, who has impressive stats of 8,170 yards, 72 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions from 2022-23. Pick No. 2 (Washington Commanders) Parr: UNC QB Drake Maye Parr believes that UNC QB Drake Maye will be the second quarterback selected in the draft. Despite having only two years of starting experience, Maye has shown promise with 7,929 yards, 62 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions from 2022-23. Stackpole, Edwards: LSU QB Jayden Daniels On the other hand, Stackpole and Edwards are leaning towards LSU QB...

Simply put, Manchester United are on fire at the moment. Erik ten Hag's team is one of three in the Premier League to have not tasted defeat in the new year, and they've won all of their last four league games. The latest of those was against Luton Town on Sunday, where they narrowly won 2-1, despite having the opportunity to hit at least five. However, there was one player who cut out a frustrated figure while sitting on the bench at the weekend, with his Red Devils career not exactly going to plan. Amad Diallo's start to life in Manchester Ivorian wonderkid Amad Diallo announced himself to the world as a 17-year-old for Atalanta in 2019, coming off the bench to score on his debut in a 7-1 win over Udinese. In January 2021, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally got his man, as United secured the signature of the young winger in a whopping £37m deal, despite only playing five games for Atalanta's first team. He immediately joined the academy upon his arrival, where he proved to be levels above those both on his team and the opposition, scoring twice against Liverpool U21s and registering four goal contributions against Blackburn...
A former women’s basketball player at the University of Nebraska is suing the program for not intervening when her relationship with an assistant coach became public. Grant Hill looks to repeat Team USA's 2004 "success" Ashley Scoggin filed a civil lawsuit sharing how her relationship with then-associate head coach Chuck Love turned sexual and how she feared retaliation if she refused to participate. She is suing current head coach Amy Williams and athletic director Trev Alberts, and has named Love and the university’s board of regents as defendants. Williams and Alberts are accused of not providing training or policies that prohibit staff members from having a sexual relationship with athletes. In 2021, Scoggin had an internship with the athletic department at Nebraska after expressing her desire to coach in the future. Love invited her to work at a table in his office, and she accepted, the suit says. It goes on to allege that Love asked Scoggin personal questions, and invited her to go out for drinks. After declining multiple times, she accepted an invitation, the lawsuit states. Love kissed Scoggins and asked, “Have you ever done anything with a coach before?” according to the suit. Also from the suit:...

LOS ANGELES — It was all going to be so perfect. It had stars. It had records. It had one of the most beautiful stages in all of sports in prime time. It was supposed to be the PGA Tour’s big day.Two weeks ago up in Pebble Beach, Wyndham Clark shot a third-round 60 to break the historic course’s record and take the lead at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The tour couldn’t have drawn up a better Sunday — in theory. It was the off week before the Super Bowl, meaning it practically had the sports calendar to itself. It made the tournament a signature event, meaning one of golf’s most iconic venues had all the best players on tour competing. And suddenly it had the reigning U.S. Open champ — the star of the new season of golf’s Netflix show, “Full Swing” — Clark going into a Sunday duel with the most exciting young player in the sport, Ludvig Åberg. And it simply never happened.Instead, extreme weather halted play Sunday with flooding and knocked down trees all over California. The course took so much water over five days that the tournament couldn’t even be finished Monday. Instead of a...
Sports teams invited to the White House generally receive a set allotment of tickets to events, and the administration does not decide the guest list, according to a person familiar with the process who was not authorized to detail it publicly, and significant others do not always come. The supermodel Gisele Bündchen did not visit the White House when Tom Brady, her husband at the time, visited with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021, for example. But, that person said, if Ms. Swift wanted to attend, the administration would “make it work.”A White House visit from Ms. Swift would add fuel to several theories — none of which she has acknowledged herself — that she has the power to bolster Mr. Biden’s re-election bid and sink the prospects of his likely challenger, Donald J. Trump. In recent weeks, Mr. Biden’s allies have buzzed with anticipation that Ms. Swift may deliver an endorsement, as she did in 2020. Mr. Trump seems anxious about that prospect as well. In a social media post over the weekend, he said he was responsible for legislation that has contributed to Ms. Swift’s success.“There’s no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt President...
Every Super Bowl Sunday, thousands of gamblers head to the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, the largest of its kind in northern Nevada, to bet on the big game and party with fellow football fans. High rollers dine on all-you-can-eat buffets and the champagne flows in V.I.P. rooms throughout the massive complex. Long lines snake out of the William Hill Sportsbook just off the casino floor. But the action this year was supercharged because the Super Bowl included the San Francisco 49ers, and many of the team’s fans in California, where sports betting is still illegal, crossed the border into Nevada to lay down bets and celebrate with their brethren. Some of the fans considered traveling to Las Vegas, where the Super Bowl was played for the first time this year. But they did not want to battle the crowds only to pay daunting prices for hotels and meals. Reno may lack the buzz of Las Vegas, they said, but the self-proclaimed Biggest Little City in the World had the benefit of being affordable and convenient, roughly a four-hour drive from the Bay Area. “I could have gone to Vegas, but everything’s hiked up there,” said Daniel Burnett, a 49ers...
A recently released advertisement for Cetaphil lotion before the Super Bowl has received high praise for its relatable story for parents, football fans, and followers of Taylor Swift. The commercial features a father trying to engage his distracted teenage daughter in a football game, but she is more focused on her skincare routine using Cetaphil. Eventually, they bond over watching the game together, symbolizing a new way for dads and daughters to connect. While not explicitly mentioning Taylor Swift, the ad subtly references her influence on fathers and daughters watching N.F.L. games together. The use of jerseys with numbers 13 and 89 hints at connections to Ms. Swift's lucky number and birth year, creating a heartwarming moment between the father and daughter. Social media users responded positively to the ad, relating it to their own experiences. However, there were claims that the idea for the ad was taken from a popular TikTok user, Sharon Mbabazi, who had a similar concept in one of her posts. Cetaphil defended the ad as an original creation inspired by a trend of young women bonding with their fathers over football. The company stated they were working with influencers like Sharon Mbabazi to address the...
