A cargo ship, the Morning Midas, sank in the North Pacific Ocean off Alaska after its crew abandoned ship due to an uncontrollable fire. Loaded with about 3,000 vehicles, including electric and hybrid cars, the vessel went down in deep waters, prompting the U.S. Coast Guard and Zodiac Maritime to monitor for pollution and debris, with no injuries reported among the crew.
