When Beau Harper met 108-year-old Joan Fuller at a Remembrance Day service, he learned she had never received her 1939-1945 war medal for her service as a radar operator in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force. After Harper reached out to the British Ministry of Defence, the medal arrived shortly before a formal presentation on February 12. Fuller, who emigrated to Canada in 1947, was unaware of her medal entitlement until recently. Harper’s initiative, Soldier Search, aims to document veterans’ stories to preserve their legacies.
