A Canadian defense lawyer, Deepak Paradkar, was arrested and charged in the U.S. for allegedly orchestrating the murder of a witness against Ryan Wedding, a former Olympic snowboarder accused of being a major drug trafficker. The indictment claims Paradkar advised Wedding on evading extradition and facilitated access to legal documents and associates. Wedding, also indicted, is believed to have placed a bounty on the victim, who was killed in Colombia in January. The operation included 15 individuals, with Paradkar’s past notoriety stemming from his controversial social media presence as “Cocaine_lawyer.”
