The Public Health office in Seattle has confirmed a case of measles in a Canadian resident who was in King and Snohomish counties from April 30 to May 3, while potentially infectious. The individual visited several public locations, including Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and a list of 16 sites with exposure times has been provided to the public. This case is unrelated to previous local measles cases, highlighting concerns over declining vaccination rates that have led to outbreaks in North America, prompting advisories for travelers crossing borders.

The Bloc Québécois plans to contest the recent election result in Terrebonne, where the Liberals won by a single vote, citing an irregularity involving a mail-in ballot that was not counted. Bloc Leader Yves-François Blanchet stated that this oversight, which could have resulted in a tie, warrants a new election as it undermines trust in democratic processes. The party aims to seek a ruling from the Superior Court of Quebec, with implications for election integrity...

OTTAWA — Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre condemned Liberal cabinet minister Steven Guilbeault as a threat to national unity following Guilbeault's controversial comments on pipelines, which sparked backlash in Alberta. Poilievre criticized Prime Minister Mark Carney for appointing Guilbeault, who argued that Canada should focus on maximizing existing pipeline use rather than constructing new ones, erroneously stating the capacity of the Trans Mountain Expansion Project. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith echoed concerns about Guilbeault's impact on the...

As AI chatbots gain popularity, more users are replacing traditional search engines with them, but this has led to an increase in "hallucinations," or incorrect responses, as reported by the New York Times. A recent case in Canada highlighted this issue, where a lawyer's legal arguments included potentially fabricated information attributed to AI hallucinations. Despite the rising use of AI tools—particularly among Canadians—trust varies by application, with many recognizing that AI's reliance on inference from...
