Authorities have confirmed that eight of the nine skiers missing after an avalanche near Castle Peak, California, have been found dead, with search efforts still underway for the last missing skier. The avalanche occurred during a heavy snowstorm on Tuesday, affecting a group of 15 backcountry skiers, of whom six were rescued, and two hospitalized. An Avalanche Warning was in effect, with conditions remaining dangerous as search crews continued their work. The group was returning from a three-day trip at Frog Lake, including four guides and 12 clients.
