Taxi driver sentenced for assaulting sleeping passenger

A predatory taxi driver, Dominic Dalton, was sentenced to nine years in prison for raping a sleeping passenger after a night out in Aberystwyth, Wales. After dropping off her friend, Dalton turned off his meter and took the woman home, where she awoke to find him assaulting her. In her desperate attempt to escape, she grabbed a knife and slashed his tyres before seeking help from a neighbor. Dalton was found guilty of rape at Swansea Crown Court, despite his claims of consensual sex.
