UK agrees to pay Kenyans affected by Lolldaiga fire

The UK government has reached an out-of-court settlement to compensate 7,723 Kenyans affected by a fire from a British military exercise in 2021, amounting to £2.9 million, despite complaints about insufficient compensation. The fire, caused by a camp stove, damaged 7,000 acres of land and led to claims of health issues and environmental damage, with ongoing military training in the area.
