Israeli forces have recovered the bodies of Judi Weinstein Haggai, 70, a Canadian citizen, and her husband Gadi Haggai, 72, who were taken as hostages during the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023. They were murdered by gunmen from the Mujahideen Brigades at Kibbutz Nir Oz, and their bodies were found in Khan Younis, Gaza, before being returned to Israel for identification. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed condolences to their families, while the Hostages and Missing Families Forum urged for a ceasefire to secure the return of the remaining 56 hostages still held by Hamas.
