Former NRL star Matt Utai is in critical condition after being shot multiple times in a targeted drive-by shooting outside his home in Greenacre, Sydney. At 44, he sustained gunshot wounds to his lower leg and upper chest area and has undergone surgery; another 44-year-old is in serious but stable condition. Police confirmed the shots were fired from a white SUV, which was later found burned out and is being examined for forensic evidence. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive and whether Utai was the intended target.
