Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar has apologized to Burkina Faso for a Nigerian military jet’s unauthorized entry into its airspace, which resulted in the detention of 11 servicemen. The jet, en route to Portugal, landed in Burkina Faso due to a technical issue. The Alliance of Sahel States condemned the incident as an “unfriendly act,” prompting heightened military readiness among member states. Following discussions in Ouagadougou, both nations agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation and regular consultations.
