A learning disabled artist, a former Iraqi refugee, and one of the youngest nominees are shortlisted for this year’s Turner Prize.
Nnena Kalu, Mohammed Sami, Zadie Xa, and 27-year-old Rene Matić, the second youngest nominee after Damien Hirst, are contenders for the prestigious award, as announced by Tate.
Their works will be exhibited at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery from September during Bradford’s UK City of Culture celebrations, with the winner receiving £25,000 to be announced on December 9 in West Yorkshire.
