Daily Telegraph to be sold to US firm RedBird

American buyout firm RedBird has reached an agreement to acquire control of the Daily and Sunday Telegraph after a two-year period without ownership. The firm will purchase the stake held by Emirati royal Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Sultan al-Nahyan, who had previously financed an unsuccessful bid that was blocked by the prior government due to a law against foreign government ownership of British newspapers. This new deal is subject to regulatory approval.
