Liverpool’s all-time leading goalscorer Ian Rush, 64, is recovering in hospital following two days in intensive care due to flu and breathing difficulties. The Countess of Chester hospital staff received thanks from a Liverpool spokesperson, who wished Rush a speedy recovery. Rush, who scored a record 346 goals in 660 appearances for Liverpool and was Wales’ leading scorer until 2018, has also served as a club ambassador after his playing career. Flu cases are currently surging across the UK, with hospitalizations at their highest since records began in 2021.
