Pope remains in 'critical' condition after 'respiratory crisis'

Pope Francis remains in critical condition at Gemelli Hospital in Rome after suffering a respiratory crisis. The 88-year-old pontiff is receiving treatment for pneumonia in both lungs and required blood transfusions due to a low platelet count. Despite being alert and in an armchair, his prognosis is guarded and he is in need of a high flow of oxygen.
