Philippine parliament votes to impeach vice-president

The Philippine parliament has voted to impeach Vice-President Sara Duterte over allegations of corruption and threatening President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. with assassination, which she denies as a political vendetta. With 215 out of 306 members of the House of Representatives voting for impeachment, the bill will now be heard by the Senate as an impeachment court where Duterte faces removal from office if found guilty, marking a historic moment in Philippine politics.
