The Israeli military has released Palestinian paramedic Assad al-Nassasra, detained after Israeli forces killed 15 emergency workers in southern Gaza last month. The Palestine Red Crescent Society condemned the military’s internal inquiry findings as an attempt to justify a “war crime,” following the deaths of eight paramedics and others during an attack on emergency vehicles. The military acknowledged “operational misunderstandings” led to the incident, prompting criticism for a lack of accountability in Israel’s actions against medical missions.
