Production at Vauxhall’s Luton plant, after 120 years in the town, has ended as the last van rolled off the line at 12:18 GMT, with over 1,000 jobs at risk. Parent company Stellantis announced the closure in November to move electric van production to Ellesmere Port. Workers expressed mixed emotions, with plans to transfer machinery and knowledge to the new site in Cheshire.
