In response to a WhatsApp chat, Labour MP Oliver Ryan has apologized for his “completely unacceptable” comments and expressed regret for not speaking out at the time. This comes after fellow MP Andrew Gwynne was sacked as a health minister for sending offensive messages in the same group. Ryan, who was a member of the group from 2019 to early 2022, has pledged to cooperate with Labour’s investigation and acknowledges his failure to challenge inappropriate remarks.

Mourners attend former Hezbollah leader Nasrallah’s funeral in Lebanon
Tens of thousands of mourners gathered in Beirut for the delayed funeral of Hezbollah's former leader Hassan Nasrallah, killed in an Israeli air attack. The funeral also honored Hashem Safieddine, Nasrallah's chosen successor killed in a separate raid.
