Returning to Wafcon after 15 years, Tanzania faced Mali without overseas stars Clara Luvanga and Aisha Masaka, who were absent due to injury and other reasons. Despite a promising display from playmaker Diana Lucas, Tanzania struggled to convert opportunities, while Mali secured a 1-0 victory with Saratou Traore’s goal, marking their first clean sheet and opening match win in Wafcon history.
