Simpson family to discover police watchdog findings

The family of Katie Simpson, a showjumper who was murdered in 2020, will receive the findings of a Police Ombudsman’s investigation into failures by the PSNI on Tuesday. Multiple red flags were missed before her sister’s partner, Jonathan Creswell, was charged with her murder, but he was found dead at home during trial. Chief Constable Jon Boutcher has acknowledged shortcomings in the police investigation and apologized to the family, with misconduct found by officers being dealt with by the PSNI’s professional standards unit.
