A libel case
brought by Gerry Adams against the BBC is set to begin at the High Court in Dublin on Tuesday. The former Sinn Féin president claims he was defamed in a 2016 programme that incorrectly alleged he sanctioned the murder of Denis Donaldson, who was killed in Donegal in 2006 after revealing his role as a police and MI5 agent. At 76, Mr. Adams denies any involvement in Donaldson’s death.
