At least 30 writers, predominantly young women, have been arrested in China for publishing gay erotic fiction on the platform Haitang Literature City, facing accusations of violating pornography laws. While many are out on bail, the law disproportionately targets gay depictions, contrasting with leniency towards heterosexual content, despite similar explicitness.
