A gynaecological health expert has discussed the common symptom of butt pain that can occur during periods, often described as being like an electric shock in the buttocks, due to pressure on nerves from uterine contractions. Severe zaps may signal endometriosis, which can affect the sciatic nerve. Proctalgia fugax, sharp pain near the anus, can also be triggered by periods due to hormone-induced muscle contractions.
