The government has allocated £1bn in funding for London-style buses nationwide, with £712 million for local authorities and £243 million for bus operators to improve services. Transport secretary Louise Haigh stated that the investment aims to streamline funding models and target the fare bus cap, currently set at £3 until the end of 2025. Areas such as Peterborough, the Isle of Wright, Cambridgeshire, Leicester, Torbay, South Yorkshire, and Liverpool City region will receive significant funding to enhance bus services.
