Burglars, vandals hit LAUSD schools 171 times since August

Vandals broke into a South Los Angeles elementary school for the sixth time since July, causing $115,000 in damages and contributing to a total of 171 incidents of burglary and vandalism in the L.A. Unified School District this semester. Despite lacking burglar alarms and security cameras, the district is working to enhance campus security through additional supervision, community relations, and anonymous reporting via the LASAR app to address the ongoing issue.
