Burglar caught hours after staring into Ring doorbell of home he tried to break into

Ashley Whitehouse, 42, dubbed Britain’s ‘dopiest burglar,’ was caught after staring into a Ring doorbell camera and leaving his mobile phone at the scene during a failed burglary in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. After being chased from the property by the homeowners, he was arrested two hours later and assaulted an officer, ultimately receiving a sentence of two years and 11 months in prison.
