The Bulgarian government allocated 1,890,000 leva for organizing the 47th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, to be held in Sofia from July 6 to 16, 2025. Prof. Nikolay Nenkov was appointed as the Chairman of the Committee, with vice-chairmen from Belgium, Mexico, the Republic of Korea, Zambia, and Qatar, and Joel Busuana (Rwanda) as the rapporteur. This decision was made by the caretaker government of Dimitar Glavchev and supported by all parliamentary groups in the National Assembly.
