Brisbane Heat triumphed over the previously undefeated Melbourne Stars with a thrilling four-wicket victory, thanks to Max Bryant and Xavier Bartlett’s explosive partnership of 66 runs off 25 balls. Bryant scored an unbeaten 48 and benefitted from a missed catch early in his innings, while Bartlett contributed 21 off nine balls. Despite the Stars setting a challenging target of 195, the Heat managed to secure the win with Bryant hitting a six and a boundary in the final over. This victory propelled the Heat to fourth place in the standings, while the Stars’ captain Marcus Stoinis and debutant Blake Macdonald also had notable performances.
