British tourist dies from karate chop in road rage incident

A British tourist, Alan Roger Jolliffe, 57, was fatally injured in Phuket, Thailand, after a violent altercation with another tourist, Pektas Tuguy Tayyar, 29, from Sweden. Following a minor traffic incident involving their rented mopeds, Tayyar delivered a single karate chop to Jolliffe’s head, rendering him unconscious. Despite being rushed to Patong Hospital, Jolliffe succumbed to his injuries later that evening. Tayyar has been arrested and charged with assault resulting in death.
