After being wrongly accused in a murder conspiracy case, Ademola Adedeji, a young Black man from Manchester, was freed from prison by Britain’s Court of Appeal due to misidentification in a video. Despite not committing any violent acts, he was convicted of conspiracy and served an eight-year term, highlighting the disproportionate targeting of young Black men in gang-related cases. The court also reduced the prison terms for two other defendants in the case, emphasizing the importance of avoiding unfair stereotyping based on race.
