Neville Husband, a former prison officer and church minister, has been identified as possibly the most prolific sex offender in British history, committing at least 388 offences against boys at Medomsley Detention Centre from 1969 to 1985. His abuse reportedly continued in subsequent roles at other institutions, with investigations suggesting he may have outnumbered even Jimmy Savile’s crimes. Convicted in 2003 for multiple counts of sexual assault, Husband’s reign of terror was revealed during a police probe into Medomsley, where over 2,000 trainees suffered abuse. He died in 2010, leaving a legacy of severe institutional failure and victimization.
