HMRC ploughs £67m into post-Brexit contract with controversial firm behind Horizon Post Office scandal

Taxpayers will pay £67 million for a year-long extension with Fujitsu, the company behind the Horizon IT scandal, to run HMRC’s Trader Support Service. Despite Fujitsu ruling out bidding for contracts due to the scandal, the extension was approved as it is not a new contract. Lord Arbuthnot criticized the decision, stating it sends the message that unethical behavior will be overlooked.
