A Virginia man, Brendan Banfield, was found guilty of murdering his wife, Christine Banfield, and another man, Joseph Ryan, who was allegedly lured to their home as part of a plot. Prosecutors argued that Banfield and their au pair, Juliana Magalhães, who had been having an affair, staged the incident to appear as a self-defense scenario. Magalhães testified against Banfield after pleading guilty to manslaughter, claiming they used a fetish website to lure Ryan. Banfield faces a potential life sentence, while Magalhães could be sentenced to time served.
