What to know: Four ways ICE is training new agents and scaling up

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is intensifying its efforts to carry out mass deportations, with plans to hire 10,000 additional deportation officers and a budget of $76.5 billion, nearly ten times its current annual budget. The agency is also adapting to increasing violence during arrests by equipping agents with protective gear, enhancing specialized units for high-risk operations, and streamlining training processes.
