A senior Bondi detective, who has served with the NSW Police for 15 years, has been identified as the officer who shot and killed one of the Bondi Beach gunmen, Sajid Akram, during a mass shooting incident. The detective made a remarkable shot from a distance of about 40 meters while hiding behind a tree, helping to prevent further harm to bystanders. Ahmed Al Ahmed, a civilian, also displayed bravery by attempting to disarm one of the attackers, leading to his hospitalization after being shot. Three police officers were injured during the incident, with two remaining in serious but stable condition, including Constable Scott Dyson, who is expecting a child.
