Hammer-wielding public schoolboy who attacked fellow students as they slept named by judge

17-year-old Thomas Wei Huang, a public schoolboy, was sentenced to life in prison for attacking two sleeping students and a teacher with hammers at a Devon boarding school. Huang claimed he was sleepwalking during the assault, but the jury rejected his defense and found him guilty of three counts of attempted murder. The judge imposed a life sentence with a minimum term of 12 years, stating that Huang had planned the attacks and understood the consequences of his actions.
