Left-hander Blake Snell has opted out of his $62 million, two-year contract with the San Francisco Giants to become a free agent for the second consecutive offseason. The two-time Cy Young Award winner had a 3.12 ERA in 20 starts this season, including a no-hitter in August. Because he declined a qualifying offer last year, the Giants cannot offer him one this offseason and won’t receive draft-pick compensation if he signs with another team.
