Tsz Wing Boaz Chan, who pleaded guilty to break and enter, unlawful confinement, and sexual assault, was part of a gang that demanded 200 bitcoin but only accessed a fraction. The attack is part of a disturbing trend of “wrench attacks” targeting cryptocurrency investors globally. Chan was sentenced to seven years in prison, with his crime highlighting the growing violence associated with crypto investments.
