The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), located near the Giza pyramids, is set to open on November 4, 2025, after 33 years of planning and construction, costing £910 million. It will showcase 50,000 artifacts, including the complete collection from Tutankhamun’s tomb and a colossal statue of Ramesses II. Anticipated to attract 5 million visitors annually, GEM aims to boost Egypt’s economy significantly. Tickets can be purchased online for around EGP 600 (£10), with high demand expected at launch.
