The use of artificial intelligence and machine learning is expected to enhance fire detection and response, particularly in remote areas, as extreme fire weather and longer fire seasons are predicted to continue due to climate change. A “paradigm shift in fire management” is deemed necessary by experts to integrate advanced technology and knowledge for early detection and rapid response to prevent fires from escalating to catastrophic levels.
