A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found a correlation between coffee consumption and reduced risk of dementia, particularly with unsweetened caffeinated coffee. Participants who drank coffee were at least 34% less likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease and related diseases, 37% less likely to develop Parkinson’s disease, and 47% less likely to die from a neurodegenerative disease. The study suggests that consuming unsweetened and caffeinated coffee may have protective effects on the brain, but more research is needed to confirm this link.
