Cotonou, Benin – Following a failed coup attempt to depose President Patrice Talon, life in Cotonou’s Dantokpa market is returning to normal. The coup, initiated by soldiers who seized the national television station, was swiftly thwarted by forces loyal to Talon, aided by the Nigerian Air Force. The situation remains tense as the government investigates the coup’s origins, amid rising regional instability and recent military takeovers in neighboring countries.
