Belgium has increased the number of animal welfare officials from 95 to 250 across 300 towns, indicating a strong commitment to animal rights. GAIA is urging action in this area, highlighting the importance of these officials in managing local animal welfare. Leuven scored 92%, Ixelles 97%, while Hooglede and Tielt scored below 50% in terms of animal welfare performance.
