Last week, the City of Cape Town began the extensive refurbishment of Muizenberg beachfront, sparking concerns about the fate of the iconic beach huts. The City clarified that the eight existing huts will be demolished and rebuilt elsewhere in a similar style to preserve the heritage value of Muizenberg.
