Justin Simporios, a 35-year-old resident of Surrey, B.C., claimed a record-breaking $80 million jackpot from the Lotto Max lottery on May 9, 2025, the largest ever awarded to a single person in Canada. During a press conference on May 15, he shared that his winning ticket, purchased while shopping for dinner, brought him overwhelming joy, prompting him to resign from his job in logistics. Looking ahead, Simporios plans to buy a dream home, spend quality time with his family, help his mother retire early, and give back to his community.
