A Squamish, B.C. man, Zachery Mayne, was rescued after crashing into Slhanay Mountain during a BASE jump on November 11. After a 90-degree turn caused his parachute to collapse, he fell and managed to cling to a rock outcropping, preventing a 450-meter fall. Squamish Search and Rescue, aided by North Shore Rescue and Talon Helicopters, reached him after a challenging hike, and he was transported to the hospital with serious leg injuries. Mayne expressed gratitude for the rescue efforts and emphasized the importance of safety in outdoor activities.
